A standard tile, a door, or a basin of a width you know gives you a ruler inside the photograph. Without one you cannot check whether the room grew.

How it works
The photograph is scaled to about one and a fifth megapixels and repainted at a moderate denoise. The instruction names the room's geometry as fixed: the walls stay where they are, the distances between toilet, basin, bath, and shower stay as photographed, and the camera does not move. Tile, paint, taps, and fittings are the changeable set. A separate clause asks any mirror to keep showing a reflection consistent with the room.
The negative prompt leads with size — enlarged room, widened walls, extra floor space — before it gets to relocations and warped tile grids, because expansion is this room type's signature failure.
Why bathrooms specifically
Every interior render drifts. Bathrooms are where drift becomes consequential, for reasons that are about the room rather than about the model.
They are the smallest room in most homes, so a five percent widening is the difference between a door that opens and one that hits the basin. They are fixture-dense: four large objects in a space where the free floor might be a square meter. And their clearances are regulated in ways kitchens' mostly are not.
There is also a perceptual trap. Small rooms photograph badly, so people shoot them on wide lenses from the doorway, which already exaggerates depth. Start from a photograph that flatters the space and ask a model to improve it, and both effects pull the same way.
The defense is to bring a ruler into the frame. A tile of known size, a standard door, a basin whose width you have measured. Then the check afterwards is arithmetic rather than impression.
Mirrors are a second scene
The mirror deserves its own attention because it is the most reliable place to catch a render that has stopped tracking reality.
A mirror shows the room from a viewpoint you are not standing at, obeying a reflection of your own camera position. Everything in it must correspond to something real, at the right size, in the right place, reversed. That is a strong constraint, and it is unrelated to the constraint of painting a plausible rectangle of gray.
So the mirror is your indicator. If the tiles in the reflection do not match the tiles on the wall, or the reflection shows a window the room does not have, the model has stopped rendering your room and started rendering a bathroom. That finding applies to the whole image, not just the glass.
What it is genuinely good for
The skepticism above is about precision, and it should not obscure a real use.
Tile tone, fitting finish, and paint color are decisions people find genuinely hard to make in the abstract, and this page answers them in your own room with your own light and your own window. Dark tile in a small bathroom is the classic argument that a render settles in seconds — you see how much light the room loses, which no sample board conveys.
