How it works

Inspect a title slide, chart, dense diagram, and final page, especially when custom fonts or media are present.
The ODP enters a temporary document conversion queue. LibreOffice Impress opens the presentation, resolves its page layout, and writes a PDF made of static slide pages. The browser polls the job so the conversion engine can work separately from the web request. Once complete, the result is checked and made available for temporary download.
ODP is an editable presentation model with slide masters, themes, charts, shapes, notes, and media. PDF is a fixed delivery model. The export is therefore best for a review copy, a print packet, a submission, or a recipient who needs to read the slides without editing them.
The fixed output also gives a team a stable review target. Add the revision date to the filename, compare important exported pages with the source, and keep the ODP under the same document-control process as the PDF. This prevents a convenient delivery copy from becoming the only record of an editable presentation.

Review before sharing
Choose PDF when the audience needs a stable view rather than the ability to edit the presentation. A PDF is useful for an approval record, a handout, an application upload, or an attachment that should look the same on a phone and a desktop viewer. It is not a replacement for the ODP: speaker notes, transitions, embedded media, master-slide editing, and many presentation controls belong to the source format. Before exporting, remove temporary notes and hidden slides that should not be delivered, then check the page size and orientation. A wide slide printed on portrait paper can shrink readable labels even when the conversion itself is correct. For formal review, compare the first, middle, and last slides and keep both files under the same revision name.
Check a title page, a chart, a dense diagram, and the final page after conversion. A missing font can change line wrapping, while an unsupported effect can change the visual emphasis of a slide. If the deck will be printed, use the destination printer's preview and keep the ODP as the authoritative source for future changes.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need LibreOffice installed to convert ODP?
No. LibreOffice runs on the conversion worker, so your browser can upload the ODP and download the PDF without a local office installation. Keep the original for editing, themes, and future presentation changes. The browser only needs a normal network connection.
Are ODP animations preserved in PDF?
No. PDF pages are static. Animations, transitions, audio, video, and presenter controls remain features of the original ODP and should be reviewed separately. The PDF contains only the fixed slide view, suitable for reading and printing.
Why did a chart or font change?
Office engines can render fonts, charts, effects, and object positions differently. Open the result and inspect important slides, especially ones with small labels or custom typefaces. Compare charts and page edges with the source before sending the deck.
How long are uploaded ODP files kept?
Source, working and result files are temporary and deleted within 30 minutes. Export to PDF from LibreOffice or Impress yourself when the file must not leave your machine at all, and keep your own ODP source for later edits.
